With a star-studded cast list, most sharing an uncanny resemblance to their video game counterparts, The Last Of Us has all the heart, horror and humour you could expect.
The post-apocalyptic drama is also returning for a second season, so if you want to tune in here’s everything you need to know.

What Is ‘The Last Of Us’ About?
Based on the critically acclaimed video game of the same name, The Last Of Us takes place 20 years after modern civilisation has been destroyed by an incurable infection.
Our two protagonists, a tough-as-nails survivor Joel (Pedro Pascal) and an equally fierce teenager Ellie (Bella Ramsey), cross paths to embark on a deadly journey across the United States.
Seemingly the answer to a possible cure, Ellie bears a weight no child should, yet her fiery spirit withstands to clash against the brooding Joel in a speculator fashion.
The effortless banter, the gut-wrenching hurdles, and the fate of the entire world resting in their two hands, The Last Of Us ticks all the boxes for a thrilling watch.
Who Is Cast In ‘The Last Of Us’?
Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey take the lead in The Last Of Us, the former playing Joel, a hardened survivor, and the latter as the 14-year-old Ellie, who holds the key to getting a vaccine against the parasitic fungal infection that has devastated mankind.
Aussie actress Anna Torv takes on the role of Tess, a smuggler and fellow hardened survivor, and Murray Bartlett (whom you may recognise from The White Lotus) plays Frank, a post-pandemic survivalist.
Joining them is Gabriel Luna as Joel’s brother Tommy, Nico Parker as Joel’s daughter Sarah, Nick Offerman as Bill, a survivalist who lives with Frank, and Melanie Lynskey as Kathleen, the leader of a revolutionary movement.
Other stars include Jeffrey Pierce, Storm Reid, Merle Dandridge, Lamar Johnson, Keivonn Woodard, Graham Greene, Elaine Miles, Ashley Johnson and Troy Baker.
Will There Be A Season Two Of ‘The Last Of Us’?
Yes! HBO officially renewed The Last Of Us for a second season back in January last year, and we can’t wait to see what is in store for Joel and Ellie.
They’ll be joined by newcomers Kaitlyn Dever as Ellie’s adversary Abby, Young Mazino as Ellie’s friend Jesse, and Isabela Merced as Ellie’s romantic interest Dina.
