After months of rumours, Jennifer Lopez has officially filed for divorce from Ben Affleck, marking the end of their two year marriage.

According to TMZ, Lopez, 55, filed her divorce papers in Los Angeles, formally citing the separation date as April 26. It appears the divorce will not be embroiled in legal dramas, with Lopez allegedly not using a lawyer to file the papers. Sources have also told TMZ that the couple do not have a prenuptial agreement. Lopez is reportedly “heartbroken” by the end of the relationship.

“She tried really hard to make things work, and is heartbroken,” a source told People. “The kids are a top priority, as they always have been.”

This is the second time the couple has split, after famously dating in the early 2000s. Affleck and Lopez were engaged in 2003, and postponed their wedding that year before announcing a split in early 2004. Fans were excited when the two got back together in 2021, officially tying the knot in Las Vegas in July 2022. The two had a traditional wedding ceremony in Georgia on August 20. Whether planned or coincidental, the divorce was filed exactly two years from this date.

Neither Affleck nor Lopez has made an official statement.

Rumours of the divorce have been a long time coming, with media circulating reports the couple were living apart. Things really kicked-off when the couple reportedly engaged a real estate agent to sell their shared Beverly Hills mansion.

This was the second marriage for Affleck, 52, who was previously married to Jennifer Garner. Jennifer Lopez has been married four times to Okai Noa, Cris Judd, Marc Anthony and Ben Affleck.
